Concentration of one component in a mixture (Beer-Lambert law)

Formula

Concentration of one component in a mixture (Beer-Lambert law) formula
c2
concentration of one component in the mixture
epsilon2
the corresponding molar absorbances of the this component
c1
concentration of another component in the mixture
epsilon1
the corresponding molar absorbances of the this component
A
The total absorbance at wavelength lamda

Formula description

Beer-Lambert law can be applied to the analysis of a mixture by spectrophotometry, without the need for extensive pre-processing of the sample. An example is the determination of bilirubin in blood plasma samples.
